Mountains and Ecstasy

We shall absorb the mountain heights
yielding only to the mighty Pacific.
Northwest terrain beneath of us
being skillfully molded by the tread on our boots.
Snow silently falling but not hindering,
the pace of our travels.
I close my arms and feel embraced
and am warmed by your painted arms.
You hold me securely by the waist.
I push back gentle but with purpose.
Sunrise ignites the sky,
as the rhythm of our rejoicing
is caught in the need
of our increasing desire and demands,
two bodies and one soul
taken over by a force greater than god,
by a power beyond what can be seen from here,
and blades of grass capture a breathless love song
of two lovers
loving like there’s no tomorrow.
