Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea
I should have warned you
I'm stark raving mad.
My defenses are flawless
unlike nightmares you have.
I should have warned you,
a bullet's in your whiskey.
Lust is a catalyst
and you're looking tipsy.
The love is a trigger
that projects into motion.
Before you blink
you're across the ocean.
You're just like everyone
You don't know me at all,
streets move along
as I dive into withdraw.
So I sleep with one eye open,
night times' only guest.
I end at your front door
I truthful drunken wreck.
I slipped out with the twilight
to lay my inner demons at rest
I have many names;
and a thousand things I must confess.
