Dagger

A dagger in Romeo’s quivering hand
summons a conference of birds on land.

I slip below an unholy grip
and my vision free falls.
The tar of the Void reaches for me
caressing my face like a God.
Go lightly.
We don’t need another hero.

We all have hidden halos
and we all have hidden horns.
We get high on borrowed night,
before the veracious dawn is born.

So Romeo go, go
and wash your bloody hands clean;
you speak in leading questions,
because you never say what you mean...

2
200.

Sane

Pampered pretending and predictable endings,
there's a face that sank a thousand ships.
Glass to the flame perfectly blending
memories linger in a bittersweet kiss.

Never complain,
never explain
and don't set your sight on perfection.
There's nothing wrong
with your pain,
life is made in mistakes and corrections.

So riddle me this and riddle me that...
Riddles riddle my obtuse brain.
There are puzzles with too many pieces,
still some of us cling to what's labled sane.

Vices and Virtues

Pull me off like molting feathers,
lift me up and toss me to the wind.
Do whatever it is you want
I won't be passing your way again.
And it's a fine life
to just be walking through.
Lovers change
and night feels strange;
nothing else compares to you.
It's a fine time on that fine line
to be walking these streets home.
The moon wanes,
stars go insane
without vices and virtues we'd all be alone.

The Way It Is

I know what it’s like
to have a hole in your face,
living off the moment
and a fall from grace.
My mind is a million piece puzzle
scattered across the dirt.
Bridges burn at every turn
while every fiber in my body hurts.
I know the strife
I know the fury
I know what it’s like to be on that bridge.
There’s a sickness where no one sees,
so I keep on the way it is.

Temporary

What will be will be.
There's no way around eventuality.
I'm still hoping like a fool,
against all odds,
that the meeting reflections
is where life is lived
and mistakes are forgiven
because everything is temporary.

Smash a glass in your frustration,
revolt against the constellations.
Love does not leave fingerprints.
She never complains or explains;
love may not be decadent
she simply engages the imagination.

Hurricane

Sink your ship in hazardous waters,
make your voices sane.
You can crush my heart
like an old tin can.
You are a goddamn hurricane.

Between the devil and the deep blue sea
There's somethings you need to
 see to believe.
You need to kick and scream and rage out loud
Reason,rainbows and hope
are being held ransom by the clouds.

In the razor talons of a raven

you are marked for pain
 your final thoughts
and forget me nots,
lay wasted and in vain.

Already

I thought I knew enough
and really had a stronger grip.
You shatter my thoughts
whether you mean to or not,
as the fabric of my universe rips.

There's scuffs on my boots
and bait on your breath;
a riddle with no true conclusion.
Why did you have to show up now
with your devilish illusion?

So let's take another ride on the carousel.
Let me see the wind in your hair.
I can hear laughter over the surf
and now we're playing truth or dare.
You dare me to keep my eyes closed
and I have to ask you "why?"
You tell me a dare's a dare
and now is not the time to be shy.

Our connection will not dissolve
No matter how long
no matter how far,
Lifetimes from now we'll be in love
 because we already are.
